Last Nov. ( 2004 ) I was
offered a car to use. I paid $275.00
for a 1974 Plym Satillite. I found out when I got the
title that the tags are 5 years old. I have called the Calif. DMV and
it will cost me at lest $298.00 to bring it up to date and put it in my
own name so I can get Insuance for it.
With the help of some S.A.A. members, the tags where paid for, with the
tax and late fees
the total went to $333.00 and I pay $45.00 a month for insuance for it.
During last Fall, the thromquad carb failed, I was able to buy another
used carb for it, this
carb is a Holly 4bbl and while it works, it would take a major tune up
shop to set it up right.
I am able to put my telescopes rockerbox in the front seat and am able
to place the OTA in
the trunk which I tie down. I have to clean the plugs once a week or so
to keep it runing.
I am going to try and get to RTMC this year, with the cost of gas at
over $2.50 a gal, it's going
to be a major operation if it happens at all.
